When to go
Best Time for Each Experience
Morocco can be visited all year, but some experiences are better in certain seasons. Use this guide to plan.

Summer days in the desert are very hot, so we plan activities for early morning and evening. Winter nights in the Sahara and the Atlas are cold, and the high peaks can have snow: bring warm layers.

Practical Tips for Your Experiences
-
What to wear
Light, comfortable clothes that cover shoulders and knees in villages and medinas, and good walking shoes. A scarf is useful against sun and sand.
-
Sun and water
Bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, and drink plenty of bottled water, even in the mountains.
-
Desert nights
Nights in the Sahara can be cold, especially from November to March. Pack a warm layer for the evening and early morning.
-
Hammam
Bring a swimsuit or wear the disposable underwear provided. Spa hammams are mixed or private; public hammams are separate for men and women.
-
Photography
Always ask before photographing people. Most locals are happy to say yes when asked with a smile.
-
Food and dietary needs
Tell us about vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or other needs when you book, and we will let our hosts and cooks know.

Frequently asked questions
Group Trip Experiences FAQ
Quick answers about the experiences on our hosted group trips in Morocco.
Hosted Group Trips FAQAre these experiences included in hosted trips?
Each hosted trip page lists the experiences included. Other experiences can be added as extras when they fit the programme.
Can a host add experiences for their group?
Yes. Hosts choose extra experiences in the Host a Group Trip form, and we build them into the trip and the price per person.
Do I need to be fit for the activities?
No. Most experiences are easy. Treks and adventure activities show their level on the trip page.
Are experiences suitable for women-only groups?
Yes. Women's trips often include a women's cooperative, a henna evening and a hammam, with female guides whenever possible.
What should I wear for a camel ride or a desert night?
Comfortable trousers, closed shoes or sandals, a scarf against the sun and sand, and a warm layer for the evening.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Outdoor activities such as balloon flights and treks depend on the weather. If an activity is cancelled for safety, we offer another time or another activity.
Can you accommodate dietary needs?
Yes. Tell us about vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or other needs when you book, and we inform the cooks.
Can I book an experience without joining a group trip?
Our work is hosted group trips. If you are already in Morocco with a group, ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what is possible.
