Do You Need a Visa for Morocco? Passport and Entry Basics

Many travellers can visit Morocco without a visa, but the rules depend on your passport. Here are the basics and what to check before you fly.

Citizens of many countries, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia, can usually visit Morocco as tourists for up to 90 days without a visa. Other nationalities may need one.

Rules can change, so always check the official information for your passport before booking flights.

What to check

  • Whether your nationality needs a visa for a tourist stay
  • That your passport is valid for your whole stay; many travellers keep at least six months of validity to be safe
  • That your passport has a free page for the entry stamp
  • Any rule for travellers coming from another country than their own

At arrival

You go through passport control and receive an entry stamp. Keep your passport safe during the trip: riads and hotels ask for it at check-in.

If you need a visa

Apply early through the official channels of Morocco in your country. Tell us when you book: we can send a confirmation of your trip if the application asks for one.
