Every hosted trip shows its pace on the trip page. Here is what the levels usually mean in Morocco.
Easy
Short walks in medinas and kasbahs, a camel ride, some long drives with frequent stops. Suits most people who can walk for an hour or two on uneven ground.
Moderate
Walks of 2 to 4 hours, some uphill, for example in the Todra Gorge or Atlas valleys. A normal level of fitness is enough.
Active
Full trekking days of 5 to 7 hours, sometimes at altitude, like the Toubkal climb, or adventure days with quads and sandboarding. Regular exercise before the trip is recommended.
Things that make a trip tiring
- Long drives across the Atlas to the Sahara
- Heat in summer and cold nights in winter
- Early starts for sunrise
- Walking on sand and cobblestones

Frequently asked questions
Can I skip a hike?
Usually yes: there is often an easier option or time to rest.
Is the camel ride difficult?
No, but it can be uncomfortable for people with back problems. Walking next to the camels is always possible.
